Evidence-based Practice

We often think of evaluation as something we have to do to meet the expectations of our funders – in most cases, this means tracking the number of clients employed or in training.

But this doesn’t begin to capture the rich range of client change and growth that happens as a result of our work.   We need to find ways to track our impact and to be sure the public, policy-makers and funders know the value of what we do!

The Canadian Research Working Group for Evidence Based Practice in Career Development was formed to address two important issues in the field of career development:

  • Increase pan-Canadian sharing of research and promising practices, with an emphasis on sharing French and English research;
  • Strengthen the overall evidence-base for career development practice with an emphasis on informing policy.
